"No Ivanti Workspace Control license is available" message is presented at the start of a user session

    Problem

    Consider the following scenario:

     

     

    In this scenario, the user will not receive a license from Workspace Control and will be presented by the message:

     

    No Ivanti Workspace Control license is available

     

     

    Cause

    Because VMware Writeable AppVolumes is configured to include the user's profile, Workspace Control needs to be present in the VMware Writeable AppVolume as well.

    As a result, the files needed for claiming a license, which are placed in the user's profile, are redirected to the Writable AppVolumes.

    The Workspace Control Agent Service, that runs outside of the VMware Writable AppVolume and thus is unable to retrieve them from the user's profile.

     

     

    Solution

    Exclude the user profile folder from the VMware Writeable AppVolume.
