This document contains a recommendation for those who are planning to upgrade from v2016.x to Service Desk or Asset Manager v2018.x. This can be considered as a supplementary to the following product documentation:
If you are upgrading from v2016.x, it is recommended first to upgrade to v2017.1 before you can upgrade to the v2018.x. More precisely, if you upgrade directly to v2018.x, bypassing v2017.1, you might miss tables which were, firstly, introduced in v20171.
If you are upgrading from a version earlier than 2016.x, there are a number of stages, which you need to run additionally as specified in the aforementioned product documentation.
