How to Uninstall Ivanti Antivirus

    This article describes the methods for removing Ivanti Antivirus (Kaspersky engine) and Ivanti Antivirus 2017 (Bitdefender engine).

     

     

    Scheduled Removal Task

     

    1. In the Console go to the Security Activity tab and click the Create a task Icon and click Remove security components.
    2. Give the task a name if you wish and check Ivanti Antivirus for Kaspersky removal or Ivanti Antivirus 2017 for Bitdefender).
    3. Save the task.  Now you can add clients and run the task as you would any other scheduled task.

     

    Manual Removal on the Client (Kaspersky Engine)

     

    Log on to the client device and as administrator run the following command:

     

     

    "C:\Program Files (x86)\LANDesk\LDClient\vulscan.exe" /removeav /showui

     

     

    The /showui is optional and displays a progress window.

    Manual Removal on the Client (Bitdefender Engine)

     

    Log on to the client device and as administrator run the following command:

     

     

    "C:\Program Files (x86)\LANDesk\LDClient\vulscan.exe" /removeavnew /showui

     

     

    The /showui is optional and displays a progress window.

     

     

    Force Removal (Kaspersky Engine)

    If the above two options (Scheduled task removal or manual removal) fail you will need to force removal of Kaspersky.

     

    1. Download and run the Kaspersky removal tool from here: Removal tool for Kaspersky Lab applications (kavremover)
    2. After the removal tool runs and completes, don't reboot yet but open regedit.
    3. Navigate to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services and delete the key named: LDAV.
    4. Reboot the device.
    5. After the reboot, delete the C:\Program Files (x86)\LANDesk\LDClient\antivirus folder and all its contents.

     

    Force Removal (Bitdefender Engine)

    1. Open REGEDIT and navigate to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services.
    2. Delete the key named: LDAV. 
    3. Download the Bitdefender removal tool: Bitdefender Endpoint Security Tools removal tool
    4. Run the tool and reboot when finished.
    5. After the reboot, delete the C:\Program Files (x86)\LANDesk\LDClient\antivirus folder and all its contents.
