The Ivanti Endpoint Security server install stops at running PreInstall.esql SQL script and rolls back the install.
In the SQLError.log, the SQL script below failed to run.
Start SQL Processing
Error: System.Data.SqlClient.SqlError: A network-related or instance-specific error occurred while establishing a connection to SQL Server. The server was not found or was not accessible. Verify that the instance name is correct and that SQL Server is configured to allow remote connections. (provider: SQL Network Interfaces, error: 26 - Error Locating Server/Instance Specified)
While there may be other unknown causes, FIPS can stop the install.
What is it?
FIPS stands for “Federal Information Processing Standards.” It’s a set of government standards that define how certain things are used in the government–for example, encryption algorithms.
Disable FIPS, on the designated machine. Reattempt the installation.
