Inventory scan on Mac clients does not update or Mac client does not appear in inventory

    Macintosh clients with the LDMS agent either do not appear in the console, or do not appear to be updating their inventory scans. No errors show in the application event logs and no scans appear in the LDScan\ErrorScan folder. Checking the IIS logs under c:\windows\system32\logfiles\W3SVC1\ex<#>.log will show 406 errors similar to the following:

    Internet Guest Account does not have proper permissions to ...\LANDesk\ManagementSuite\LDScan or ..\Landesk\ManagementSuite\IncomingData





    Modify the permissions on the appropriate folder to allow Internet Guest Account access.

    1. Right click on the folder  ...\LANDesk\ManagementSuite\LDScan (or IncomingData) and click properties
    2. Click on the Security Tab
    3. Click on Internet Guest Account (IUSR_)
    4. Grant the user Full Control
    5. Click OK
    6. Re-run the scan from the MAC



    Note: Scans are only sent through IIS when they are encrypted. While inventory encryption can be toggled with windows agents mac agents always send encrypted data.
