You do this from the Core.
1 - browse on your Vista machine to
2 - Run the "SetupVista" shortcut - there's specific things that need to run to get a Console on Vista.
3 - When the Console is installed, remember to run the Console-Servicepack on your freshly installed Remote Console.

Thanks for that. I certainly managed to start the installation for the Vista console, and it almost appears complete when I get the following error:
Error 1721: There is a problem with this Windows installer package. A program required for this install to complete could not be run......
Acknowledging the error rolls back the installation.
At this pointe I would completly remove ldms from the machine including the client if one is installed. Download MSI zap from Microsoft and cleand the install up with it. Re-install again.
Yeah also go into the registry and program files folder and remove the stuff left behind from the console. (Be careful if there is a client installed on this machine also.)
