    Portal Manager

      Hello everybody,

we are experiencing some issue about Portal Manager. We deliver to our users link and programs to launch thru Portal Manager. We associated this links to some scopes that are created from queries. These queries are based on AD groups. The problem is often some icons in the Portal Manager are missing, then appear again after minutes. It's not steady. In the task the client is associated and delivered (green) but the user can't show it. Is there a best practice. Maybe some alternative. This system is not working so well... and it's important for our complany. The core is Ivanti 2017.3 Thanks.

This sounds like something you might need to get Support involved.

It would likely involve various trawling of the client-side logs (policysync & co) to figure out what's "really happening".

You can also pick up / ensure that you're on the latest service update (either "live" or "in limited release" (which I think is SU5) ), depending on what level you're on ... if you're on "vanilla 2017.3" for instance, that'd be quite a lot of fixes & improvements that may have already helped here.

When you say Queries are you using the basic queries from inventory or are you using queries setup up in the Directories section of Network View? Then using Targeted LDAP queries in the scheduled task? Or does it just take the user to click the Refresh button in Portal even after Portal has been launched?

We created Queries, then Scopes and for last we launch Portal Manager Task associated to those Scopes.

If you are using AD groups I would suggest you view this doc for use of LDAP groups: How to set up and configure policies to use LDAP Groups or LDAP Containers

Your issue may be a delay because it requires the device needing to run an inventory to know it part of the AD group and then report back to Core and then the core to update the task with that device per query\scope once AD group verified.
