We are validating our provisioning template across all of our standard computer models, and are having this problem only on the Lenovo T61.
Simply, on the T61 in AHCI model, the template fails on step 1 - to remove all the partitions with little hint as to what the deal is. "Unknown error" 8000000H. If SATA is set in the BIOS to Compatibility mode, no failure.
I have tested the same template on an X61, X60, T60, and T400, with no problems in AHCI mode, so I don't think its a driver issue.
