LanDesk Agent Power Monitoring

Unfortunately there isn't a way to do this that I know of. You would be dependant on the computers power supply being able to supply this information back to the motherboard.

Yeah, I suppose as long as the power supply does provide this information it might be possible. Do you happen to know how it gets this info back to the board? WMI? IPMI?

You might be able to write a script that would go on your machines and put that info into custom data for the inventory scanner to pick up.

Yeah, we are also a Dell shop here, we use Optiplex and Latitude. I'm not aware of anything that monitors voltage on these power supplies. Are you using software that does this?

Yeah, I think your limitation here isn't going to LANDesk but rather Dell. I think I know what you're talking about though, like my home built machines and 3rd party motherboard usually have utilities that can monitor voltages and things like that. I haven't seen that a whole lot when it comes to OEM machines because they want to keep that stuff locked down.

I know lenovo machines have some of this ability - IBM director (used to be free with the machine) used to report to me when voltages fell below the limit.  It was handy as a sign the power supply was about to fail. I think it was just via WMI.

We don't monitor the power consumption but we do monitor the power state of the machines.  Take a look at our free LANDesk plug-in called Power State Notifier Lite.  Might help you get good visibility into how your systems are being used.
