So I guess you don't want a couple of gigs of log files on your core I personally would write an ER for better LDMS Log file maintance since it is kind of a mess. So if you don't want to put in an ER that will probably go unnoticed for a while, you have several options:
- Create a script that deletes files based on date and use the LANDesk or Windows scheduler to run in ever X days.
- Manually delete them.
There really is not way to turn these off or limit them. They do however roll but my directory is about 2gbs. Another folder to consider is the inventory errorscan folder. I would love just to turn this feature off.
- Forfiles - Internal http://didyourestart.blogspot.com/2011/08/forfiles-to-manipulate-files-based-on.html
- File Vader http://code.google.com/p/file-vader/
- Scripting - Autoit, Powershell http://www.petri.co.il/top-10-server-2008-tasks-done-with-powershell-part-2.htm#delete-old-files etc...
Hope this helps.
Your suggestion was very useful. Now I have 3 more gigs free on our server.
Glad to help.
