What version of LANDesk are you on?
If it's 8.8 there is a patch that needs to be applied to fix some of the things that got broken when Microsoft patched their Visual C++ redistributable package that our agent uses.
Let me know if it's 8.8 and I'll find the patch.
I realized I may have overlooked the obvious. You mentioned that you run an image deploy, Sysprep injection, HII, and then a reboot action. Instead of the reboot action you need to use a Configure Target OS action, which will put things into place so LANDesk knows to pick up when the device gets back into Windows, and then kick off the reboot.
If you're using CTOS already let me know.
I am experiencing the same issue. I am running management suite version 9. this is only happening on Windows XP images, performing the same sytem configuration actions on Windows 7 OS is fine. My provisioning template never gets past the Configuring Target OS stage.
The provisioning task doesn't fail, it just sits at a "running" state. I have found that if I log onto the target device and manually launch ldprovision.exe the device re-boots and then continues the provisioning task to completion.
The provisioning templates that this is happening on previously worked. From the provisioning log on the core server it is clear that the device cannot seem to find find the next task?
Any ideas would be helpful?
Is your Target OS set to the correct OS on the template?
Yes I have checked that the templates are using XP Pro as the target OS.
I have found a workaround though, I have added an autologon entry in my sysprep and ldprovision now runs after booting into the OS. The provisioning task completes succesfully.
