I'm currently trying to get some new HP hardware to image using WinPE for OSD. The hardware is the new HP 6005 pro Small form factor machine.
The issue we’re having right now, is that when we try and boot into WinPE on this machine, it fails to load the AMD SATA drivers despite the fact we’ve injected the drivers that HP provide on their website, using the standard method and the method advised here: http://community.landesk.com/support/people/jan.buelens/blog/2009/06/18/winpe-driverpack-tool--bring-your-winpe-image-up-to-date-with-all-the-latest-drivers
We’ve been through the forums looking for advise, and the general advise seems to points to posts like this: http://community.landesk.com/support/docs/DOC-1157 where we need to check the scsi defaults section in the text.oem file of the drivers. The drivers provided by HP only have two devices included in the drivers, one for x86 and for w64, so we don’t really have a lot of choice there. I think this is because the SATA controller is an AMD and they don’t have many different controllers that intel do right now, so we’re confident the text.oem file is correct.
can anyone advise on how we can further progress with this at all? Is there any troubleshooting on the winpe image we can do to see why the drivers are not detected, or what it is expecting to find? I’m hoping maybe someone else has posed the same question to you guys for the AMD SATA controllers and maybe you have the exact answer we’re looking for?
Any advise would be really very much appreciated!
