I just realized that I have had no successful inventories in several months. I checked the event viewer on the core server, and didn't see any errors. However, on the client side I am receiving an Event 14 error: "LDIScn32: The inventory server LANDESK did not respond." I am running 8.8 on a single core with agent 8.8 on the client. New clients are not showing up in the LDMS list of devices because of this lack of inventory. Any thoughts?

Check the LANDesk Inventory Service on the core server. On my LANDesk server that error (The inventory server did not respond) is usually due to the service having stopped for some reason. Restarting it allows the scans to run and be processed again.
That's weird, I don't have that service listed. Lot's of other Landesk services, but no Landesk Inventory anything. Any ideas on how to get that back?
Ok, not only was the service not listed, but the executable was missing. This is extra strange because it had been working up until Dec, at which time it simply quit. (Obviously, I hadn't needed inventory in awhile!) I copied the inventory file from the original install location and ran it with the install switch referenced here: http://community.landesk.com/support/docs/DOC-2553#comment-2939. Now I have a service that shows up in the list and starts just fine.
