I think it is the VPro chipset itself that looks for "ProvisionServer". At that point LANDesk isn't involved in the process.
Correct vPro has it hard coded to send requests to provisionserver. all you have to do is set an alias in DNS to the LANDesk Core Server.
Once the LANDesk agent is on the machine each time amtmon.exe starts if the machine is not provisioned it will send out a request to the core server since the client knows where it is.
