    WinPE boot cd, ERR_FAIL

    Apprentice

So I created a boot cd for WinPE but I didn't want provisiong I wanted the PXE boot menu because those are the only scripts I have. So I edited the startnet.cmd to start the PXE menu instead of provisioning and that seemed to work fine, it brings the menu up. However, when I select an image to deploy it doesn't work. I checked the logs on the server and they read:

      "Machine","CbaStatus","ExitCode","Duration","Begin","End","Command"
      "MACHINENAME","OK",0,0:00:01,6/23/2010  3:43:40 PM,6/23/2010 3:43:41 PM,"WINPE, TIMEOUT=1800"
      "MACHINENAME","OK",5,0:00:00,6/23/2010  3:43:41 PM,6/23/2010 3:43:41 PM,"diskpart /s X:\LDClient\rmvol.txt"
      "MACHINENAME","ERR_Fail",-1917190145,0:00:01,6/23/2010  3:43:41 PM,6/23/2010 3:43:42 PM,"ldrun drvmap.exe DOMAIN.COM\username RANDOMSTRING123456 I: <qt/>\\server\images<qt/>, STATUS  FACILITY=3513"
      ; "Job Complete","0 Done","1 Failed","0 Off","0  Unknown"

When I boot via PXE everything works fine, so I know it's not a bad password or path or anything. Anyone have any ideas as to why this would be failing? Thanks.

I edited that actual deployment script and removed the ldrun before drvmap.exe and I was able to get passed that point. I now get an error when it gets to the RunBatch command. I ran it with and without the ldrun before it and it fails both times.

I have an on going issue at the moment, but i got the image to run as it was down to the DOMAIN.COM\username, try going into advance edit and adding

"DOMAIN.COM\username" it seems the script was getting refused due to this...hope it works

yea I more or less figured this issue out by myself. It was a matter of me not running the PEshell.exe. I was just running the startnet.cmd instead.
