    New to Provisioning...

    SteveW Apprentice

I am starting to test (aka play) with provisioning more.  One thing I am confused about - How/Where do you tell it to boot into PE at a specific point(or even the beginning).  Perhaps I am thinking of this too much in OSD terms, but I was hoping all the same general processes were available in both areas.  Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

Provisioning is quite a bit different from OSD in terms of how the process starts.  Provisioning is built on PXE, which requires you to configure your clients so the built in NIC is first in the boot order.  Of course make sure PXE is enabled for the NIC as well.  Both of these steps are done in the bios.

After that, all you need to do is add a "Reboot" action to the system migration section of your Provisioning template.  The machine will then reboot and knows to boot into WinPE when it hits the PXE menu.
