Could someone please confirm that i am using sysprep correctly for capturing a Windows XP SP3 image. Aim is to use this image across an Active Directory environment.
1) Create a baremetal image of Windows XP SP3
2) Create a sysprep folder on the root drive and copy the sysprep tools into it.
3) Execute sysprep utility and select 'Use Mini-Setup', select 'Detect non-plug and play hardware', select Shutdown Mode: shutdown and then 'Reseal'
4) Then capture the image
(I have already created a sysprep.inf answer file).
At a high level, yes this is correct. You can customize your sysprep.inf file to add additional configuration tweaks, etc.
you got it right, sounds good to me
