I try to deploy/capture vmware host. Microsoft WAIK cannot find networks drivers fro the vmware virtual machine.
I just cannot fint Vista64 vmware network driver to add it to landesk boot subsystem.
Please, if you know.. tell me where do I take Vista 64 network driver for vmware host. It has to be inside the VMware Tools package, but I cannot find whrere is it.
"WAIK uses Viusta x64 network drivers"
The boot rom that LANDesk provides is Vista 32bit. There should not be a need to find x64 bit drivers for LANDesk. If you downloaded the 64bit version of the WAIK, my recommendation is get the 32 bit version.
I might be wrong, but looks like there is only one WAIK that exist.
Automated Installation Kit (AIK) for Windows Vista SP1 and Windows Server 2008
At microsoft download site I found only this one. If you can point me to the link for wiak 32bit, that would be wonderfull. Thanks!
from my understanding, you only need the AIK to activate your license. LANDesk provides you with the boot.wim that is modified with their technology and is provided with the LANDesk install. The boot.wim they provide is 32bit, so all the 3rd party drivers that i needed, I downloaded 32bit Vista drivers and they all worked great.
I didn't even use a Windows Vista WAIK, I used the Windows 7 one.
en_windows_automated_installation_kit_for_windows_7_and_windows_server_2008_r2_x86_x64_ia64_dvd_400053 is the one i downloaded and used
EMiranda, thank you I will try it
BTW, I found the original doc HOW-TO use LDMS OSD
It sais about a version of WAIK. It is the one I use.
Looks like Using of MS WAIK it is not a good idea at all.
I would like to use any ISO live CD imaghe via network with any compatible loader (I think the best way for now still WinXP PE)
