I have a multicast, bandwidth throttled, network friendly push delivery method working away at the moment pushing outlook 2003 out. I have added all computers into the scheduled task and am running it at the moment.
While it is pushing it out and seems to be working, should I only be adding one or two PC's into the schedule and then after it has downloaded the files it will make the other machines in the subnet install it from the local location?
It has elected a Multicast Domain Rep on that subnet, which is receiving the files over HTTP. As it receives the files, it checksums them and multicasts them to anyone else on the subnet who is supposed to receive the files. After complete transfer, the files are cached on each recipient for 2 days, and on the MDR for 2 weeks... this is to support the peer downloads that you reference.
