    Distribution Point Hash Download Error

    Rookie

We have one distribution point that is failing to install from correctly.

All other machines will install, but if they report to a particular distribution point/preferred server, it will throw an error indicating "Failed to download additional files for a package."

We're using the Security and Patch Manager to do these pushes, but it doesn't seem to matter if it's an older patch, or one that was just released. Both patches will behave the same from this preferred server.

A targeted machine will recognize it needs to install, download the patch, then fail to run. The files are located in the cache directory.

Here is the info from one of the failed machines:

IIS is set correct for .* on the Mime files.

Permisssions match all other servers on the shared patch directory.

I'm a little stumpped trying to figure out how to reset a Hash file if it's through the Security and Patch manager.

      We're currently on LDMS 8.8 SP4.

          This problem has been fixed.

The issue was being caused by LDRunner.exe, which is located in the LDMain directory (Shared name) AKA Management Suite\landesk\files

The LDRunner.exe on our core server was one revision, but this preferred server had a different revison, causing a hash error.

Here is an excerpt from the SDclient_taskXXXX.log:

Downloaded http://(CORE Server)/landesk/files/ldrunner.exe did not match the hash, expected cRpijiWAqlTZRa3Lbflmxg== actual 8Cq3I82XuL43ZEkSCd451g==

This preferred server used to be a core server at one time. The LDMain directory was still being shared, so the client located it during it's normal check of downloading a patch.

Once the LDmain directory was unshared, the client had to match or download from the core server. This fixed the issue.
