Which version of LANDesk are you using? If your using 8.8, you might find 9 easier to use.
What kind of software are you trying to deploy? (exe, msi, bat, etc...)
When distributing scripts that run something else (eg: install software) not all scripts return the result code back to LANDesk so you don't get a proper error. Instead, what you see is the result code of the script exiting successfully.
There is an issue right now where unless a user is logged in, then the vbs package will not run even though it says successful in the console.
What version of LANDesk do you have installed? I can give you a link to a patch that should fix that for you.
Im using 126.96.36.199 I can't upgrade to 9 becuase of the 64bit sql requirments. I don't have any 64 bit servers and the powers that be will not let me purchase a new server at this time. 8.8 has distribution features in it so I don't see why thats a problem. I am trying to deploy exe, msi, and vbs scripts. I have updated the scripts so any error codes are captured and written to the system event log and nothing shows up in the event log. Im 99.99% sure there is nothing wrong with the script as it works fine when I manually copy it to the systems and run it or set it up as a login script in active directory.
will that patch be included in sp2 ?
Check your HTTP share for your packages is setup correctly. Or that your UNC folder with your packages has the correct permissions.
Ya the share works fine I use the same share to launch exe/vbs from the share outside of landesk.
