Upgrading from SP1 to SP4 using Landesk Management suite 8.8

    Rookie

      Hello ,

I would like to have the steps that need to be done in order to successfully update my SP level on my client core and workstation.

As per my reading I see that we need to backup the DB but I didn't find the step by step guide which I can follow.

Do we need a backup server for that ?

Once we update our Core to Sp4 will the workstation loose connection to the core if the pc are not yet updated ?

          Hello,

evey time you do an upgrade (service pack) or you install a fix it is a good practice to stay on the safe side and have a backup of the database (full) and of the core.

If something will go wrong (IT is not an exact science) you will always have handy a way to recover the situation.

There is not much to say about the installation of a Service Pack.

          Generally speaking:

          1. Make a full baclup of the Core server
          2. make a full backup of the database
          3. install the SP4 on it
          4. reboot when required

Your clients will still communicate with the Core even if you do not upgrade them immediately.

          Kind regards,
