Is there a way to tell a scheduled task to repeat just weekdays, or just certain days? Hour, Day, Week and Month are such limited options. I'm trying to push out some scripts, but I only want it to run on weekdays. I know I "could" create 5 separate tasks that start on a different day of the week and recurre weekly, and I know I "could" have it deploy daily, and have the script do the checking and only do it's thing if it falls on a weekday, but those both seem like such cludgy approaches to the problem. Is there a more eloquent solution?
One way is to use a local scheduled task to do this. The scheduled task would push out a local scheduled task using the /dow switch. Here is the sytax
Hmm.... not necessarily "ideal", but that's a possible workaround. It would make it a bit harder to maintain. You would think that a program that is based so much on scheduling would have a bit more flexibility than that without having to resort to a local scheduling method (which in my opinion defeats the purpose of LANDesk). I will see if there is already a feature request, and go from there. I will wait for any other options before I mark this as answered.
