Hi, In LDMS 9 + SP2 i have same issues on receiving any alerts form machine: we specifically create alert-ruleset with Disk space Availability. We have deployed Alert-ruleset and then rebooted the machine. No alerts or action are generated. It seems that nothing happens on client side no monitoring at all. I'm thinking to open a uspport's case.

Did you make an upgrade in the Core Server?
We have that version working ok about Alerts... But we realized, the previous alert ruleset stiil there, maybe if you try to delete all previous rulesets through a task and then depoy again the new ruleset... its only an idea...
What kind of alerts do you have? email or log?
We staged a brand new 9.0 core and did not port any of our 8.8 alert rulesets to this core. We are currently trying to get both email and log alerts to work at this time.
Yes have had issues and found the Alerting service on the core server would only stay running for a couple of minutes and would then stop. I ended up following this article http://community.landesk.com/support/docs/DOC-6060 and this seems to have resolved my issue. Note: make sure you export your rules as they will be wiped out and you need to recreate.
