Trouble silently deploying a Remote Console in LANDesk Management Suite 9.0

    Rookie

      Hi,

I'm have trouble getting the install to work. I have followed the instructions in this doc http://community.landesk.com/support/docs/DOC-9644 but the deployment fails.

I have made sure the prereqs are there and removed the install dependant .net install to try and help but it still fails.

I tried to setup the delivery method as suggested in the doc, only have a "Always listed for installation" listed not "Always listed for distribution", this then mark the policy as available but nothing happens until I run up Desktop Manager on the client?! When I do that the install fails:

Failed launch process as user launch with 1 (error 5, 0x00000005)

I have also tried using an emergency push delivery method, specifying the run from source and get:

Thu, 30 Dec 2010 17:05:13 File (\\coresrv\console\LANDeskSoftware902\LANDesk\Setup.exe) is not in cache

      Thu, 30 Dec 2010 17:05:13 Installation result 80070072
      Thu, 30 Dec 2010 17:05:13 processing of package is complete, result -2147024782 (0x80070072 - code 114)

The result in the console says "The target internal file identifier is incorrect".

I guess I'm missing somthing, can any one help?

      Thanks...
