    Inventory Scan Hangs - Server 2008 nodes - LDMS 9.0 SP2

    Apprentice

I have a couple of Dell PowerEdge 1950s running Server 2008 and since LDMS 9.0 SP2 inventory has been failing.

I found this in the LDISCN32.LOG file.

Wed, 12 Jan 2011 09:52:22 Now verify whether it is a x64 platform!
Wed, 12 Jan 2011 09:52:22 Now verify whether it is a x86 platform!
Wed, 12 Jan 2011 09:52:22 We can not verify the platform!

looks like it hangs here, any ideas why the scanner is hanging?

Does anyone have thoughts on this?

Hi, just wondering if you were able to resolve this.

I also seem to see this on a couple of Windows 7 (x64) computers.

It was working fine until this date.  I see this:

These PCs eventually fell off from LDMS and I found them doing a domain scan for unmanaged devices.

No, there hasn't been a resolution that I can find.

I am also having troubles of this nature with Windows 7 x64 after the provisioning agent installs. I wonder if there is a seperate agent that is needed for x64 clients or the fact that I am using a version of windows not detected by the security scan, ie, Win 7 x64 SP1.

Would be interesting to know where and what the ldiscn32.exe scans for when verifiying the version. Would be nice to simply modify a registry key in my image to pass through this.

Any official word from LanDesk on this issue onegoodsoul?

                  I'm recieving same thing on both 2008 R2 SP1 as well as Windows 2003 x86 SP2

                  Any resolution yet?

                  Running LANDesk 9.0 SP2

I have had a ticket open with LANDesk support since Aug 17 2011 with no resolution.
