Help setting DNS for static IP WinPE

    bnelson Employee

I am in an environment where they have static IP addresses. Because of this, and the fact that I am implementing provisioning here, I have had to create bootable media to start the provisioning scripts. I have set the IP, Gateway, and subnet mask using winbom but DNS has been an issue. I have written a batch file that will set DNS but I have been unable to find the place to add it so that it is called automaticall directly after setting the IP info. Can anybody help with this?

Im not sure about this but If the Net sh command can be used in WINPE you could do some Net sh commands to set static DNS info..

Although I think you might need this before winpe actually boots.. ? I never played with bootable media.. Convince them to go to DHCP! haha.
