i am new to landesk, somebody please help!
You can define Push -type tasks with a primary package, main package and a Final Package.
Alternatively you could look at Provisioning tasks (although I think these run in Local System Context rather than as Logged in User - which may be an issue if you are playing with the HKCU.
Alternatively you could combine the stuff you want to do into a bat file / vbs script and run it all in one task.
it all depends on what constraint you have really.
Sorry to offer a vague answer,
Could you elaborate some more on your first line?
Create a new scheduled task,
go to the package tab.
when selecting the package you have the option to select a Primary Package, a Main Package and a Final Package.
The limitation on this is that the Delivery Method you can associate with this Scheduled Task will be a Push Method (it won't let you save the task if you try to apply a Policy-Type Delivery Method.
I'm taking this from LDMS 9 - I'm assuming it was in also in previous versions, but may be wrong.
Does that help?
Actually, that is very helpful. I'd seen that tab before, but wasn't completely sure on it's capability. I am going to give this a shot. You also mentioned that there is a limitation with delivery methods when using multiple packages? I sometimes prefer to use a policy supported push, especially for laptops that are not in the office at the time of a push(thatway, they receive the package once back on the network). Any suggestions on how to deal with that scenario? Thanks again.
