I get this in 7.4. I assume the inbound e-mail are HTML and Service Desk does nothing to remove the extra line breaks. You'll get the same kind of thing sometimes if you copy text into Notepad, which doesn't have much in the way of formatting.
We also have this in 7.4 and have just logged a call.
Did anyone get anything back from LANDesk regarding this issue? Is there a problem record?
We logged this some time ago and were told that problem 5351 had been raised.
We were also provided with the following workaround from Jenny Lardh @ LANDesk support (but we chose not to go ahead with this and it was not tested):
- There is a workaround which may or may not be suitable - you can change the format Exchange handles the messages when specifically requested via IMAP. By default this is "Best body format" which means it will try and figure out which format to use automatically and will likely be "HTML and alternative text". Change this to either "Text" or "Enriched text and alternative text", then restart the Exchange IMAP Service. Full details on how to change it (valid for Exchange 2007 and 2010) are here: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb691401.aspx.
- This workaround will be OK if you don't use IMAP for anything else. Anyone using Outlook will be using an "Exchange" connection so won't be effected. If you do use IMAP for other uses and won't change this setting then if you have multiple Exchange servers you can enable IMAP on another server and change it for that specific server.
To my knowledge the problem is still not fixed. As I said above, we chose not to implement this as a workaround, I'm not sure why as it was a colleague of mine who dealt with this who is no longer with the company I'm afraid, but hope this may be of some use to you.
That would be me then Jill!
