If you are asking if LANDesk will be able to create a device group called "All CD machines" under "Devices" when you run a query looking for specific condition? Then I don't think so. But what you can do is create a query and name it "All CD machines" then put in the search condition, so that everytime you run the query it will pull data from inventory and return the lastest machine in the query. You can then target the query when you want to deploy a package.
Thanks - but that was not what i meant - i think it cant do what i want
the dynamically updating group membership -
Anyone ever figure this out? I found this at DroppedPackets, but it didn't help me since part of the screen shot was cut off. If anyone has this working I would greatly appreciate any help. I am trying to get a dynamic group created that updates from query based on IP Range.
same need there, i'm discovering your tools and... no dynamic collection ?!!
We have to goes deep ito SQL table without any support ? Really ?
In LANDESK the Query is the dynamic part and can be used to target items against a target list that changes over time.
The Device Group is a static grouping function that you can manually add to or drag the results of a query to.
Sometime people would like to have the contents of Device Groups change automatically but the reasons for this vary. What are you trying to achieve?
