Have you try to put this in the xml file?
<CommandLine>cmd /q /c shutdown /r /t 5</CommandLine>
Thanks for the quick responce
I had put the following command Lines
<CommandLine>cmd /q /c shutdown /r /t</CommandLine>
I didnt put the "5" after /t....Is it a Problem to skip that Auto Login?
And one more thing,Can you tell me in the XML where should I Put that Command lines exactly?
You probably want to leave the auto logon there so that it can do the agent installation and clean up stuff.
The whole thing should go under and after the line where it install the agent and delete the ldiscan.cfg. They are all numbered from order 1-.....
Let me check that what you are mentioned in our discussion, if I facing the issue again I will attach that XML file and send back to you....Could you please check and tell me or edit that xml and send back to me....that will help me a lot...
I was curious If you can deploy the image without installing the LANDesk Agent to the machines. I'm trying to deploy an image to old XP systems that we don't want the Agent on. I noticed it requires the path to WSCFG32.exe in order to setup the deployment script.
You should be able to to, in your OSD script uncheck the "image use sysprep" box, you can also use third party software to deploy the image instead of using LANDesk imagew.
even if you use imagew and use landesk sysprep, just advance edit the OSD script and it will pull up the .inf file for the sysprep you are using and delete the lines that are referring to the agent install.
I want deploy the agent along with the image...so difinately I will be choosing the "image uses sysprep", I will be giving the answers also in that and to deploy the LANDesk agent. I can able to do it in WIndows XP...
The thing is I cant able to do it in Windows 7 O/S... I am using this "Command5="cmd /q /c shutdown -r -t 5" command line for windows XP deploy Script....
If I use the same comman line its not working for Windows 7 O/S...So can you plz tell me Where should I give that same command line exactly or is there any other command line is there? Please see the below details this is what I have done while deploying the WIndows 7 Image.....
1. I am not using Microsoft Answer file....Without putting the Microsoft Answer file, I just ran the sysprep, enabled the generalize check box and shutdown the machine.then I have captured the image without any answer files.
2. While importing the same image into Deploy script...I have enabled the "Image uses sysprep" option...from there only I have given the answers and I have given the Agent file also to deploy.
3. After I process the deploy script...Image has successfully deployed and added into domain also.after that its Automatically logging into Default Administrator account and deployed the LANDesk Agent. Here the thing is "Once the Agent has deployed successfully it should be reboot automatically and promt for "Username and Password" to be given by users...."
The same kind of senario I have faced while Deploying the Windows XP Image...so what I did, I have edited the Deploy script in advanced edit option and added this "Command5="cmd /q /c shutdown -r -t 5"command line into that script. So once the image has deployed successfully. It will logging in Automatically but user's can't able to see anything in the desktop, the background of the desktop is blue screen, it simply run the LANDesk Agent and deploy it and reboot automatically, then it will prompt for "Username and Password"
Then I tried to give the same kind of command line into the "Windows7 LANDesk Deploy Script" but it's not working.again it's Automatically logging into Default Administrator account and deploy the Agent after this it's not rebooting.
Thanks and Regards
We can able to use thirty party softwares to deploy the image in LANDesk...But the thing is in windows 7, By defaulty it will be creating the "System reserverd partition and system files partition inside of Drive C", So if you use any third party software, it will not capture the both partitions,it will be captureing the only system files partition....(I had Experiment using third Party tool called imageX) Still we can capture both the partitions...but we will be getting separate images....we cant able to incorporate those 2 images....we have to deploy the images one by one only...it's not recommend options....
Where else if you use ImageW V2 LANDesk tool to capture and deploy...it will be capturing the the both "System reserverd partition and system files partition inside of Drive C" Windows 7 O/S with in one image.... So its recommended tool I Guess.... More over while deploying the image we have to enable the "Image uses sysprep" Option, If we need to give the answers without creating the XML answer file using WAIK tool...So surly we have to give the LANDesk agent path also..otherwise you cant able to save that deploy script....
If you are going to enable the "Image uses sysprep" then you have to give the Agent path...otherwise you cant able to save the script....it will not be allowing to save the script....
You could do one thing...once you saved the deployment script then go to advance edit option...in that you could delete the agent installation command line....
Then It will not install the agent.....
