I am in the process of creating a Windows 7 image. I have my machine all configured in audit mode and ready to be captured. My question is, where does the landesk created unattend file come into play? I think I read somewhere on the forums that once you dump the image on a machine you should be able to find it on C:\Windows\System32\Sysprep... Can someone shed some light on this for me? I am trying to figure out where I can plug in items such as Product Key, pc naming scheme, etc. Thanks for your help.
The unattend.xml you will need to create or download one. If your talking OSD Deploy script. Under sysprep first tab check the box using existing file as a template ...(Unattend.xml) browse to it and it pulls all the info in. Product key etc. Best way is to use their sample and edit info with notepad. WSIM is a bear sometimes.
In other words you do your capture in audit mode. Then do your deploy script.... the sysprep file will be injected to the C: drive when it is deployed with the deploy script.
I can then leverage that via Provisioning, correct?
Yes... you will need to import it from import scripts button in provisioning. Then you can select the unattended file from your template. Download that also. It's easier. If you use variables import variables checkbox also. Don't spend to much time with naming convention in Win7 MS does not let you prompt for hostname like in XP.

You can prompt for a hostname in Win7 sysprep. You just cannot do it via WSIM. You need to manually edit the .xml and completley remove the line
