When attempting to inject Intel NIC driver 82577LC into WinPE, I receive error message “Failed to get localhost IP address or resolve core server name. Please check your network and try again. The steps to inject drivers into the WinPE image file can be found at http://community.landesk.com/support/docs/DOC-2158” Please press key to continue… I've downloaded the Vista 32bit NIC driver directly from Intel website and still unsuccessful. Currently, I am run LANDesk 9.0 sp2 via provisioning. Any recommendation would be greatly appreciated.
When you download the driver from intel, its important you pick the right folder and .inf to the right driver as they bundle their drivers with ALOT of models.
when you download the driver - which is here - http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=Y&DwnldID=18718&ProdId=3244&lang=eng&OSVersion=Windows%20Vista%20Business%2C%2032-bit%20version*&DownloadType=Drivers
extract it, the path to the correct driver is :
the correct .inf is
hopefully that gets your working
I can vouch for this solution. I loaded the e1k6032.ini file and was able to get a network connection on the ProBook 6450b with PXE.
I have the same problem with the same model. I have uploaded the same file e1k6032.inf, and updated the PXE after that.
after I select WinPe I think the system try to download the network drivers from the landesk. I have noticed that while it is trying to download that e1k6032.inf file it gives error, and so obviously the laptop wasn't able to get IP Address. please advice.
If you are getting error while the driver is loaded, then you might have to reinject the driver again. Is there other .inf file in the folder?
there has been quite a time change since the issue was first brought up, are you sure the 6450b you have is shipping with the same hardware nic (82577LC). checked on a working machine?
Edit: Also what version of LANDesk are you on, the steps above are for 9.0 and wouldnt work on 8.8.
Ouch, I find out it is a Broadcom 4313 802. but how can I get the right inf file, I have tried all the 4 files on the extracted exe that I downloaded from Hp.com. the funny thing is the driver.exe is working just fine on the windwos enviourment, but the inf file on the landesk just doesn't work.
We have Landesk 9.0
I checked HP website and it seem to have intel or marvell yukon gigabit ethernet for your wired network. Have you try using that? We have HP 6730s and it uses marvell yukon yk60x86.inf. Are you trying to connect using wired or wireless? Might have to turn off wireless if you want to use wired.
