Are you referring to the 8.8 sample template for the scripted install of XP? I got that exact same error, and I think it was because I didn't have the correct parameter for winnt32.exe. The correct parameter has to match this exactly:
Also, I believe that in 8.7 you had to call winnt32.exe from a mapped drive, I think it didn't work from a UNC path. Try using a mapped drive instead.
Calling from the mapped drive did away with the winnt32.hlp message, however I'm getting a new error now which means that I still have not been able to provision successfully
I just get an error message to contact the LANDesk administrator
Is that error occurring on the scripted install action? If the machine is still in Windows PE, check the X:\ldprovision\ldprovision.log file. If it's not there, check the ldmain\log directory on the core for ldprovision.log. This is where the errors should show up.
Post the logs and your template to this thread. The template can be exported by editing the template and click on the XML section, then export.
After examining your provisioning template, I can see one thing that is definitely wrong: the additional parameters passed to setup is not correct. You have this:
It must be this:
You have a missing ":" from your template.
I'm not sure where you got your templates from, but I've posted some XP templates here:
