If you are getting stuck at this point then it is going to be difficult to get support through every step via this community as there is a lot to learn. In this case, it is likely that your client has been unable to send a scan to your core server, the question is 'why?'.
On your client, if the client has installed, then in the start menu - programs, find the folder for LANDesk and launch an inventory scan. This should run in a visible mode and if the client is having a problem you should get an error.
