There are a lot of switches for LDScn32.exe. You can turn off different parts of the scan. Try to narrow down which part of the scan is problematic (hopefully you have a test box that duplicates this).
Any luck on your problem? We're getting ready to deploy an agent to servers, and your problem caught my attention. Wondering if you had any luck solving it. There's another article in he community where someone was having trouble with specific OS versions in scanning.
