I'm answering my own question as I'm going along here
Looks like the Placeholders work better of you get the format right
I can get one to work in plain text now but I can't get it to run in the drop down.
Still struggling with the alternate window though. Oh unless it's just a View Rule!?
Still solving my own problems here
Drop down now works It doesn't like copy and paste - browsing to the value type works better
Dummy window now works as well - just needed a view rule
The only bit I'm stuggling with now is getting the Change Title and description on the dummy change window. I've made the relationship but it appears as read only
I created a new dummy change desc and a dummy change title, put that on the dummy change window and then used placeholders to them on the action instance data - Bingo!
Hopefully someone finds this useful!
LOL each time I manage to read your updates, I get another to say you've fixed it yourself! Thanks for posting it on here and I'm sure it will be a useful reference for others.
It was quite therapeutic actually
thanks for your thread. It seems to be exactly what I am looking for.
I am just trying to rebuild your walkthrough as I want to create a change from an incident.
But I think there will be a lot questions on my side.
I do not really understand how do you do this:
'Created an automatic action on the change collection from Incident'
It would be nice if you explain it a little bit more or if you could add some screen shots
Thanks and regards
OK, I found some answers on myself.
The automatic action on my change collection already exists so I was not able to create one...
The view rule works, too. I just had to put it on the first place in the rules list...
So for now, it is working a little bit
It seems to be quite important not to copy the value tags as you wrote.
