I noticed once I got the content replication process working that the transfer speeds from the Replicator to the Target Preferred Server was significantly less than the bandwidth available. I have the setting for bandwidth utilization configured to 96%, however the actual performance was significantly less than 96% of what was available during the transfer process that ran for the last 5 hours. Checkig our circuit provider's statistics we only hit about .15Mbps whereas between 1.5 to 2Mbps was available.
Is there anywhere else to configure the amount of bandwidth the transfer process can or will use?
I'd like to kick it all the way to the top to transfer the bulk of the files to the Target Preferred Server over the weekend when the office network will not be utilized by personnel.
Are you using HTTP or UNC paths? I've discovered that UNC (CIFS or SMB protocol) is pretty slow. Try switching to HTTP. I just kicked off a replication job using HTTP as the source path and I can tell already that it's faster.
