Did you checked the Dependency Package alone on that System?
If you are running an 8.8 installation you may want to check the following file on the clients experiencing this:
<your programfiles folder>\LANDesk\LDclient\sdclient.tasks.xml
if this file looks like it contains a lot of whitespace or non-ascii characters it is corrupted.
I had this on some clients on my old 8.8 installation, have not seen it on v9.
I just deleted that file (it will be recreated automatically) and the problem was gone.

I've not been able to reproduce this using a specific pattern, so I have noe idea on why it happens.
Been seeing this when pushing (dont' remember if it was regular push or policy supported push) but I regulary got machines that failed with "error processing dependencies", all of them needed this type of "fix"
