Hi everyone. I currently have our reports saved to a shared network, however originally the database, etc were on a differnet server. Even though in the shares I have updated the location of the reports and have the reporting login user info entered, the SD Reports credentials keep getting locked out by random machines when trying to print an incident, etc. I am just trying to find out if there is some location on the servers themselves (web, app) that I need to change the credentials for reporting. I cant imagine it being tied to a machine as when a user tries to print it is pulling from the same network share. Any ideas?
There are a couple of things you can check on the application server. Usually in the Administration component you have a Crystal Reports shortcut, here you will find the reports used to print Incidents etc.
If you click on a report and click configure, you will be able to see the unc path the report is stored and credentials to the database. Correct here if required.
I would also check the parent folder in the reports tree. You will see an action called Default reports path, click this, and it will open a window to the server and share the reports are accessed from. Make sure this is pointing to the correct network share.
Hope that helps
Yes - I have actually checked all those thinking I missed something. But they are all correct. Do the console installs that are local on the machine store a password to access these? Is it possible the local machines are whats causing the issue?
I think the password is not requested if you use a mapped drive rather than the UNC path.
Yes and its a mapped shared drive for all our employees. Which is why this is even more baffling
Just to clarify, have you checked the datasource in the crystal report itself?
Can you explain how to verify that so I can be sure?
