Try opening up a command prompt in PE, after it goes through all of that. Type in Ipconfig /all and make sure your DNS has been set properly for your network. Also, try pinging it by IP and make sure your connectivity is good in that regard.
If you are getting the nic drivers to load and have basic connectivity, it may be a dns issue as said. You may have to either use the IP or the FQDN for the core http://community.landesk.com/support/docs/DOC-22528
