I'm all for a unified LANDesk System Tray Icon (e.g., one icon that represents all LANDesk functions) in lieu of multiple separate icons. One thing I don't really like about the current software distribution bubble is that it does not even tell you that LANDesk is installing the software. With so many apps with autoupdates and system tray icons, it would be nice from an end user perspective to have a consistent UI experience for the user. Let them know what is being installed, by what application (LANDesk), how long it is going to take, will it require a reboot, etc... Current implementation is very lacking. Sorry just some thoughts....
Thanks for the feedback. I'll try and get it passed along to the right people. The single icon thing will probably be a long way off at this point. I like the idea of at least throwing our name on the software distribution bubble, and the name of the software being installed. Seems like we should try and call out anything we are doing so people don't wonder what's happening on their machine.
Thanks, I believe Tom needs to go out a get more programmers since a lot of these suggestions seem to stew for a long time or just say it is something for Mobility Manager and it will get on the list.
