You would need to use a policy delivery method like the pre-defined "Always Listed for Installation". Have a look at the LANDesk Management Suite help und "About the Type and frequency of policy page".

The issue is sort of resolved - I managed to get the package to show up by creating the task and adding the machines as a query - that's the part I didn't understand at first, you still have to run a task to enable the deployment which sort of seems odd until you get your head around it. However I am still having a few issues - on PC it seems OK but on Mac it pops up a box trying to get the user to install even though the package is PC only - seems strange behaviour.
