I don't usually do these types of reports using the LANDesk reporting tool, instead I go straight into SQL. I did something similar to this not too long ago. The SQL query I used was
suitename as software,
count(distinct computer_idn) as installations
where publisher like '%microsoft%'
group by suitename
order by installations desc
You can add extra columns for things like version if you choose to or change the publisher like value. You can leave it out completely if you want the total list. Hope this helps.
If you'd rather not delve into SQL I've always preferred to use the webconsole queries for this because it has a simple 'count' option allowing you to simply add the publisher and suitename as columns (don't add device name as a column) and also add the count to get the type of report you are looking for. Webconsole is pretty useful too in that you should be able to drill-down to see who has what.
