It is default behaviour that a PC shuts down after being waked up for a scheduled task...
Look at this article for more information:
Basically I have a set of 99 PCs that need waking up each morning. I set up a scheduled task that was waking them all up at 6am (confirmed in event viewer that they we're not on at the time), and has been working fine for the last 3 months, keeping them all on. Over the last couple of weeks a couple have started to shut down (correct behaviour according to that document).
Can you think of any reason why it would work sometimes and sometimes not?
Also, as I'd only like this behavious to happen to the 99 PCs in question, is there a client side solution as the one you linked looks like it would apply to all.
Blatant plug I'm afraid as I don't know why something that used to work no longer does (except that sometime LD forget about WoL in their patches). You might want to give our Wake-On-WAN a try as it doesn't suffer with the auto-shutdown afterwards unless you choose that to happen.
We are close to releasing a new module called State Notifier which will also allow you to see in the LANDesk inventory which devices are online or offline so you can easily target devices based on their online and/or user status real-time. Check out WoW for now though.

I agree with Mark... It very much depends on the patch level of yuor agents if it registered good that it woke up. I also noticed that if it woke up and people started working on that computer, it entered some kind of delay and shut down later. Very unpredictable.
And though I do think it should work as designed and should make better use of WAN networks out of the box, do check out Mark's blatant Wake-On-Wan plug It really is much more reliable.
