Did you do this manual step during installation?
If you did that and it still isn't working, you can turn on logging by modifying the web.config file at c:\Program Files (x86)\LANDesk\ManagementSuite\landesk\Launchpad.Cloud\web.config. This should be done on the MDM server. Uncomment the section at the top for system.diagnostics. Grant read/write access to the folder c:\log to the Everyone.
Thanks, i did ensure that was enabled. It turned out that our DMZ wasn't playing nice after a patch hit this week.
I am having the same problem...... Which part of the config file should be uncommented ? In addition there is no C:\Program Files (x86)\LANDesk\ManagementSuite\landesk\Launchpad but C:\Program Files (x86)\LANDesk\ManagementSuite\landesk\Launchpad.Cloud. I guess that this is a documentation Problem.
Remove line 20: <!--
and line 30: -->
from C:\Program Files (x86)\LANDesk\ManagementSuite\landesk\Launchpad.Cloud\web.config
Then try logging into the portal again.
Open the c:\Log\Cloug.log and see if that helps troubleshoot why authentication is failing.
Hi Jason thanx for Help
I have same problem on signi-in on LDPOrtal but no C:Log Folder exists nor is created, should i do something else?
I'm working in I-PAD, do you congirm that data to insert are:
Note: LDAgent is installe but no inventory arives on the Core, maybe somrthing goes wrong; i see it tries to connect to https://MDMserver/deviceSevices/mobilconfig.asp and i receive and AspNet or IIS error : ".. object reference not set to an instance..etc..)
Are LDPortal and LDAgent correlated?
As it often happens on LANDesk there is nto a clear (well, at least not confusing) detailed documentation or manuals to reach the goals easily.
You will need to grant read/write permissions to the c:\log directory. Granting the build user group "Everyone" should do the trick.
The format you are using to login looks correct.
The Portal and Agent are completely independent of each other.
Hi Jason Thanx for the answers, just one thing,i should have a C:\log folder on MDM server but i do not find it, when should it be created?
You will need to manually create that folder. This is only when needing to troubleshoot. Normally, you wouldn't have to do this.
did you get a solution for this problem ? I have:Object reference not set to an instance of an object.Description: An unhandled exception occurred during the execution of the current web request. That exception stack trace makes me think the URL is incorrect for the Portal. Are you loggin in using an email address? Try logging in to the server URL directly using https://<server>/launchpad.cloud
Well, I am logging in with the server URL. Maybe this syslog event helps more:

Hi, i did not resolve yet; i cannot access LDPortal; IIS7 show a 404 http error; i'm trying to resolve with working on certs and on permission; In General for all the Architecture i suggest to check theese 5 things:
1) Certs should be correctly installed, as indicated here
2) The DNS public has the 3 TXT record
On the Resource Record Type dialog, select Text (TXT) from the list.
6. Click Create Record to open the New Resource Record dialog.
7. Leave the Record name field blank.
8. Create a DNS text record for Android by adding the following in the Text field:
android-mdm-enroll=https://<MDM fqdn Public es: ldmdm.company.com>/mobileenrollment/ld-androidenroll.aspx
OSIAGENTREGURL=https:// <MDM fqdn Public es: ldmdm.company.com>/MobileEnrollment/ld-iosEnroll.aspx
LDLAUNCHPAD=https:// <MDM fqdn Public es: ldmdm.company.com>/launchpad.cloud
3) Give permission to LaunchPad folder on the Core Server for users (the one you are testing for connection) and IUSR_MDMServer
c$\Program Files (x86)\LANDesk\ManagementSuite\landesk\Launchpad.Cloud
This is just a test it is not written in the manual so keep it with caution ;-)
4) Test potentially resolution issues:
From MDM ping hostname Core Server and Viceversa all hostname and public name should be resolved from one server to each other
5)Check all Win2008 Firewall configurations!!! turn OFF everything, at least for a while to avoid disturbance.
I'll update my further investigations..
