I haven't heard of any change in their stance on this. Only workaround I know of is to run a workstation VM on the server (easy enough now with the Hyper-V role enabled) and have XDD enabled on that system. Never done it myself though.

The One-Stop Shop for LANDesk Enhancements
I have XDD running under a 2008 R2 server OS by using a custom script to install it. There is also a manual step involved as the xml config file that gets downloaded is missing a link to the default xml config.
I have posted the info under http://community.landesk.com/support/message/81251#81251
Take note this is a hack and not supported by LANDesk and has only been tested in my virtual environement.
