What does the MSI do and is it capable of being run under the context of local system?
LANDesk Silver ESP
The One-Stop Shop for LANDesk Enhancements
it is called MyPassword - it is an rDirectory / Namescape tool to allow LDAP account password resets
I checked the security & it shows full access for the system account...
I think I found the problem - potential typo -
left out the "i" there
running it through again now - will see what happens.
No dice - I fixed that, not sure if it was mis-typed before or if it happened while I was troubleshooting along the way, but I tried a few different combinations
msiexec /i %SDMCACHE%%PATCHFILENAME%
args - I tried /quiet /qn & a few other combinations...
msiexec /i "C:\Program Files\LANDesk\LDClient\sdmcache\Setup.msi" /quiet
works just fine from my run box
the msiexec process launches but never seems to get above 0 CPU usage, & after an hour, it fails...
got it working now - put /i %SDMCACHE%%PATCHFILENAME% /quiet in the args field instead of the path field
used %windir%\system32\msiexec.exe as the path
