I recently had this same issue where I needed to track down why a bunch of machines disappeared from the console and LD Support informed me there is no console auditing for device deletion. Much needed feature that should be in LDMS.
Unfortunately not, there isn't anything that tracks this kind of activity especially not how it was done. There are a few tools out there that will keep information about deleted machines so that you have some information about them after they are deleted, our State Notifier is one, Managed Planet's Data Analytics can do it as well.
If you want an audit trail it is an enhancement request I'm afraid.

If you are letting the system automatically purge devices older than X number of days, there is an additional feature that will maintain a log of the purged devices. The only trick is that you have to enable it before it will do you any good.
The setting is found in the Configure Services UI on the Inventory Tab under "Advanced Settings". It's called "Log Purged Computers" and you just change the setting to "1".
