Brendan, are you using a Managed Script? That will work with all three methods (Portal, Policy, and Push). Just schedule it and adjust your delivery method.
That was my thought at first, but for some reason I thought you couldn't use those policies? Maybe I tested it wrong? I will give that another look right now. Thanks.
Maybe it was just because I wasn't sure how to schedule it for anything other than a push.
So here is the issue, I can right click on a script and schedule it, however I cannot change the delivery method. It only gives me options to change the Targets and the Start Time, not the normal Delivery Method option.
Manage Scripts are push only so can't be used in policies.
Instead, look at Batch files (or Windows Scripting if you need more power). If you create a batch file that does what you need, then it can be sent over http (so you can use it via the gateway) and can be policy supported push.

Yea bleh, I just found that here http://community.landesk.com/support/message/72513#72513
I was thinking about a batch file, but was having weird issues trying to use it via the portal (Insufficient Bandwith???) but I guess I will go back to that and try to make it work.
Doh! I stand corrected. Thank you.
Mark is correct and you can use a batch file or other script, or as an alternative look at how LANDesk runs vulscan for a patch policy. It uses an exe called ldrunner.exe
And then on the EXE distribution package properties it uses the command to run the local file. Some advantages is you can use database tokens for substitution like a managed script (e.g., %LDMS+CLIENT_DIR%, %Computer - Device Name%, etc...) and still use the policy features.
Worth a shot.
